Winery Lake: May 30th, 12:00am to 11:59pm is a site-specific media installation made for the di Rosa Preserve in Napa, California.  The view of the eponymous man-made lake from the gallery’s interior, typically puts artworks and the pastoral setting in relation to, if not occasionally in competition with, the works in the gallery.  Winery Lake explores this competition by reiterating the lake view via video projection in a portion of the gallery where it’s otherwise not visible.

The five minute video loop was recorded over a 24 hour period using an in-camera intervalometer, which records .5 seconds every 30 seconds.  The projected image thus reveals times of day, maintenance activities, and avian habits invisible during regular gallery hours.
